The Concentra Award – Preis für Videojournalismus
„The Concentra Award“ is the European award for outstanding videojournalism. By awarding this prize, Concentra aims to promote healthy competition between the various makers of television news items. Concentra also wishes to stimulate journalists to film and edit their own pieces, so they can master the entire production process themselves.
By the end of January 2006, we await the entries for „The Concentra Award 2006“. All news items that reach us after this date, will be excluded from the competition.
Conditions for participation
- Each entry has to be a „news item“, made by a video journalist.
- The news item really has to be broadcast by a news network in Europe (in 2005 or January 2006).
- The item may not take more than five minutes.
- It must be subtitled in English (even if the language of the item is English).
- We also would like to know „the context“ of the item. So please send us also the „intro“ as showed in the news bulletin.
Many obstacles for sure, but that is exactly the objective of this prize: to encourage journalists to „tell“ themselves gripping stories and encourage the networks to broadcast quality video journalism. The stakes are high, but also the reward: the winner will receive 10.000 Euro in prize money.
The prize-giving ceremony will take place in The International Press Centre „La Résidence Palace“, in Brussels (Belgium) on the 20th of March 2006.
Entering your news items is free, so don’t hesitate and send us your best pieces.
