EDeN – Workshop-Programm für Kino-/TV-Entwicklung
DRAFT ZERO offers a proven and highly successful process for developing film and television projects – from concept to first draft, all the way through to pre-production. Our core team of screenplay development consultants have more than 100 screenwriting credits to their name and have won a number of international awards, including a Palme D’Or. This team is supplemented by specialist trainers and industry guest speakers of the highest calibre.
With the support of the MEDIA PLUS PROGRAMME of the European Community, we are launching EDeN: The European Development Network, an exciting programme of workshops for anyone involved in the development of feature-length drama projects for film and television. Its aim is to build a bridge between the screenwriting process and the deal-making process, covering all the skills and knowledge needed by producers, directors, script editors, script readers and development executives, as well as screenwriters.
Participants with a specific project in mind which they wish to develop can attend a series of three workshops, in which they can take their initial idea towards production. The workshop programme includes:
- skill-building exercises
- seminars, lectures
- case studies
- panel discussions
Selection is based on the creative and practical elements of your proposal.
The course is open to all audio-visual professionals. The primary qualification is to have the drive, enthusiasm and vision to steer a project towards production. Applicants who are not resident in the UK can also apply for an industry placement in the development department of a UK production company, subject to availability.
Final deadline for workshop applications: 28th July 2003 on a “first come first served” basis.
- Step One – First workshop: 6th September 2003 – 10th September 2003 Hannover, Germany
- Step Two – Second workshop: 18th October 2003 – 22nd October 2003 London, UK
- Step Three – Third workshop: 29th November 2003 – 3rd December 2003 London, UK
The fee for the workshops is 2100 Euros. This includes all tuition, distance learning materials on CD-Rom, refreshments during workshop sessions and all accommodation in Hannover and London. Draft Zero has two scholarships available to applicants from countries designated by the MEDIA programme as having a less well-developed audio-visual industry. These scholarships cover the full course fee of 2100 Euros.
